Tom Morello is once again giving the Donald Trump administration heat, this time for using an alleged Nazi slogan at a recent news conference.

Sharing an Instagram photo on Monday (Jan. 12) of U.S. Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem addressing press a few days ago, the Rage Against the Machine musician (who also performs as The Nightwatchman) accused her of standing behind a podium that displayed a “verbatim” quote of a “Nazi mass murder slogan” on the front. The exact phrase printed on the podium was, “One of ours, all of yours.”
“Coined when an SS officer was killed and the Nazis murdered every male resident of the village in response,” Morello claimed. “If there are any MAGA left after THIS, you have made an irrevocable choice.”
The rocker also included a picture of himself at a show with a “F–k Trump” poster taped to the back of his guitar and a screenshot of a quote from Ernest Hemingway’s Spanish Civil War novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls: “There are many who do not know they are fascists but will find it out when the time comes.”
Billboard has reached out to the White House and DHS for comment.
The SS, or Schutzstaffel, were a collective in Nazi Germany that “assumed leading responsibility for security, identification of ethnicity, settlement and population policy” and oversaw the horrific concentration camp system in 1933-34, according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. The SS, which Hitler used as his personal bodyguard, was a leading force in the genocide of six million Jews during the Holocaust. Billboard has reached out to the museum for more information on whether “One of ours, all of yours” originated as Morello claims it did.
The conference at which Noem stood behind a podium reading the statement took place on Jan. 8, one day after ICE officer Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, an unarmed U.S. citizen, during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis. The incident has sparked a wave of outrage and anti-ICE sentiment across the country, while the DHS and Trump have maintained that Ross was acting in self-defense.
Morello has long been unwavering in his opposition to both ICE and the twice-impeached POTUS, releasing protest song “Pretend You Remember Me” in July in response to the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration enforcement raids. “Releasing this song now is in direct response to what we’ve seen happening, the state terror we’ve seen happening in this country of mass agents tearing families apart,” he told Billboard at the time.
Though Rage officially disbanded in January 2024, the band was known for protesting oppressive systems of power through music. Rage Against the Machine topped the Billboard 200 twice (with Evil Empire in 1996 and The Battle of Los Angeles in 1999), won two Grammys, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023 and was saluted as one of the 50 Best Rock Bands of All Time on a Billboard staff list in 2025.
