Between her 24th birthday and her 2026 Grammy nomination, it’s a huge weekend for Tyla for a lot of reasons — and she got to celebrate all of them at once on Friday night.
The Epic Records x Hennessy Grammy kick-off party at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower Hotel just so happened to fall on Tyla’s Jan. 30 birthday, so the star-studded crowd — which included Usher, Kesha, Adam Lambert, Kelly Rowland, Ty Dolla $ign and fellow 2026 Grammy nominee and labelmate Zara Larsson right by her side — took a moment to serenade the amapiano superstar.
“Today’s a special day because it’s Tyla’s birthday,” Epic Records president Ezekiel Lewis told the crowd from behind the DJ booth. “So what I would like to do on the count of three is have everyone sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Tyla, so let’s do it.”
As Tyla blew out the candles on her custom birthday cake, Lewis encouraged her to “make a wish, T! Make two wishes.” Watch the moment below:
The party celebrated all of Epic’s 2026 Grammy nominees, with Lewis shouting out Tyla for her best African performance nod for “Push 2 Start,” Larsson’s first-time nomination for best dance pop recording (“Midnight Sun”), plus Eddie Benjamin’s album of the year nod for his work on Justin Bieber’s SWAG, Wizkid (best African performance for “Gimme Dat”), Yolanda Adams (best gospel album for Sunny Days) and GIVĒON (best R&B album for Beloved). The night’s Hennessy cocktails all paid tribute to the nominees: “PUSH 2 START” was a Tyla-inspired Hennessy V.S Henny-Rita, “Midnight Sun” was a Larsson-inspired Hennessy V.S Ginger, “Sunny Days” was an Adams-inspired Hennessy V.S.O.P Espresso Martini, and “Kiss Me” was a Benjamin-inspired Hennessy X.O on the rocks.
Tyla won her first Grammy last year, taking home best African performance for “Water.”
