Queen Latifah is shutting down rumors of a death hoax that circulated on social media earlier this week. The rap legend took to Instagram to calm fans’ worries, explaining that she’s “100 percent A-okay” in a post to Instagram.
“Good morning. It’s me, Latifah. I’m 100 percent A-okay,” she said from inside her car in the Thursday post. “Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothing now, right? I’m good. Peace.”
The “U.N.I.T.Y.” rapper posted another video warning fans about the dangers of believing everything they see on social media. “[I appreciate] Everybody showing such care and concern, but honestly, what you saw on Facebook was fake. I’m fine. I’m 100 percent A-okay. Alright.”
Queen Latifah received plenty of love from fans, friends and her peers in her comments, including messages from Kehlani, Gabrielle Union, Malice and Janelle Monae.
The 55-year-old hasn’t publicly revealed that she’s been suffering from any health issues in recent months. In 2025, Queen Latifah opened up about the struggles of losing family members to cardiovascular disease and obesity-related health issues in an interview with The Healthy.
“Losing family members to the effects of obesity is really tough. I know how important it can be when someone takes a new approach to their health and how much it can impact others in a positive way,” she said.
Last year, Latifah wrapped up her time as Robyn McCall after five seasons in The Equalizer. She also made a surprise appearance at Coachella in April 2025, where she served as a special guest during Megan Thee Stallion’s set.
