The sheer number of artist signings announced on a weekly basis makes it difficult to keep up, no matter how closely you pay attention to the industry news cycle. That’s why every other Tuesday, Billboard compiles the latest signings to labels, distributors, agencies, management companies and more, in an effort to provide a snapshot of the latest moves in the artist space, from household names to indie stars to emerging acts.

EMPIRE struck a partnership with pop singer and songwriter Bebe Rexha. She was previously with Warner Records.

“It’s never been about putting out record after record. People may know me as a pop artist, but at my core I’ve always been a singer and songwriter first,” said Rexha in a statement. “Going independent and partnering with EMPIRE isn’t just a business move for me. They believe in my vision and trust my instincts, which has refueled my creativity. This new era is about embracing every part of myself, even when I’m a mess. This version of me is unapologetically comfortable in my own lane. I’m excited to invite people deeper into my world, beyond the music. I do this for mom, fans and little Bebe.”

“Bebe Rexha has built an undeniable legacy both as a songwriter and a pop icon with cross-genre hits,” added EMPIRE founder/CEO Ghazi. “She has an ability to craft records that resonate globally and what excites us most is that she’s still evolving. This partnership marks a powerful next chapter where we can reach new creative heights together.”

Starting her career as a songwriter for artists including Rihanna, Eminem and Selena Gomez before carving her own path as an artist, Rexha has minted hits including “I’m Good (Blue)” with David Guetta, “Me, Myself & I” with G-Eazy, “In the Name of Love” with Martin Garrix and “Meant to Be” featuring Florida Georgia Line. She’s been nominated for four Grammys, including Best New Artist in 2019.
