Battle like Beckham.
For years, rumors have abounded that Brooklyn Beckham – the oldest son of David and Victoria Beckham – and his wife Nicola Peltz were feuding with the soccer icon and the Spice Girl. So what happened?
Brooklyn – who now goes by Brooklyn Peltz Beckham on social media – proposed to his then-girlfriend, the daughter of billionaire Nicolas Peltz in 2020. Fast-forward to their April 2022 nuptials in Palm Beach, Florida, which – according to People – included celebrity guests like Mel C, Serena and Venus Williams, Eva Longoria and Gordon Ramsay, as well as a performance by Marc Anthony (which will come into play later).
The pair then renewed their vows more than three years later in August 2025 – and neither Victoria nor David were in attendance. Notably, Brooklyn also skipped his father’s 50th birthday celebration earlier that year.
Then, Brooklyn went nuclear in January 2026, posting a series of Instagram stories confirming much of the gossip that had plagued the family. “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he wrote. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” he continued. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
