
Mike Will Made-It and Hit-Boy have been tapped as the next Verzuz battle, as the producer clash is set for Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. PT.
Helmed by Complex and Apple Music, the battle will also be livestreamed on Apple Music from the Apple Music studios in Los Angeles.
Mike Will and Hit-Boy bring a loaded clip of smash hits to the table. Mike Will’s production résumé includes Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble,” “XXX,” “DNA,” Beyoncé’s “Formation,” Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” and “No Type,” Lil Wayne’s “Love Me,” 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” and Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up,” to name a few.
As for Hit-Boy, the diamond-certified producer has been behind the board for anthems like Jay-Z and Ye’s “N—s in Paris,” Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE,” “Clique,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Backseat Freestyle,” Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé’s “Feeling Myself,” Ye’s “Cold,” A$AP Rocky’s “1 Train” and Rihanna’s “Woo,” to name a few.
Last year, Hit teamed up with The Alchemist for their Goldfish collab project. He released his Surf or Drown project in 2023 and is working on another solo project. Hit-Boy also produced six projects for Nas, as King’s Disease won a Grammy Award for best rap album.
The Ear Drummers boss joined forces with Chief Keef for Dirty Nachos in 2024 and has continued to release singles leading to a solo album.
Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’s Verzuz platform had been quiet until being revived at Complex Con in November, when No Limit Records and Cash Money Records matched up for a battle.
Complex also launched a Complex × VERZUZ Companion Show, which will serve as a pre and post-game series previewing and breaking down all of the action come Jan. 30 when Hit-Boy and Mike Will Made-It battle.
