One Putt Broadcasting Internship

 

Objective

One Putt Broadcasting is a locally owned radio group bringing together exciting and historic Fresno radio stations including 940 ESPN (home of Fresno State Athletics!), Jewel fm and recently added 95.7 The Fox,New Rock 104.1 and 105.5 The Game. This internship offers serious undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to learn the day-to-day processes and workings of a radio station. It will provide students with hands-on experience in learning how to promote a radio station and keep the listener coming back for more! This internship will also demonstrate how to use technical equipment to produce commercials, promos and other materials for broadcast. Interns will help in the production/marketing/sales departments of One Putt Broadcasting.

 

Job Duties:

 

Including but not limited to the following:

 

1. Organize and work station promotional events

-Includes Fresno State Football Game Day Live, live remote broadcasts, Art Hop & more

-Load station vehicles with necessary event items

-Set-up and breakdown all events properly

-Represent stations professionally at promo booths

 

2. Execute Social Media

-Post to ESPN, Jewelfm, The Fox, New Rock, and The Game on Facebook and Twitter pages

-Undertake station programming tasks

-Help record and edit sound bites

-Write and edit promo scripts

 

3. Organize and take inventory of promo materials

-Keep stock of all station promo materials

- Keep all items in good shape

 

4. Contact winners

-Call and schedule their prize pick up at station

 

Requirements:

Current undergraduate or graduate college student.

Internship must be taken for credit.

Must be available to work a variable 15-20 hours a week.

Familiarity with 940 ESPN Radio, sports, Jewel fm Radio and the Central Valley market is preferred.

Previous media experience (school, internship, or professional) preferred.

Responsibility, judgment, organization, dependability, promptness, initiative, creativity, and efficiency are key to the success of interns along with the ability to handle deadlines, writing, and audio production.

Duration/Hours

 

15-20 hours a week, occasionally odd hour work or weekend duties.

Spring/ Summer/ Fall (August – December 2014)
