Juanita Stevenson

Juanita Stevenson calls herself a Valley Girl.   Born and raised in Bakersfield, California she admits she grew up listening to Buck Owens. “ Listening to Buck Owens and watching John Wayne movies were requirements in my house.  My  Dad loved both.”
After graduating from West High School,   Juanita moved to Los Angeles, California and Graduated from California State University, Los Angeles…..Juanita says her love of reading, obsession with current events and a conversation with one of her professors set her on her career path.   Her career as a journalist has taken her to television stations in Phoenix, Arizona, Denver Colorado and Dallas Texas. 
Juanita says after eight years on the road she wanted to come home.  A Great offer from ABC/30 brought her to Fresno…and the rest is history.   Juanita worked at Channel 30 for 23 years, winning numerous awards for her reporting and community service.She retired two years ago and began what she calls her second Career as News Director at KJWL Radio.
Juanita says she is currently busy trying to guide her teenage daughter through life…
